This 14 nights tour starts in Copenhagen and concludes in Helsinki. Day 1: ARRIVE COPENHAGEN (D)
Transfer from Copenhagen Kastrup Airport to hotel in connection with your flight arrival.

Dinner and accommodation at the unique Admiral Hotel, located close to the Amalienborg Palace, the old Nyhavn harbour and the pedestrian streets. Your tour escort will meet you at 19.45 hrs (before dinner) in the hotel lobby.

Day 2: COPENHAGEN (B)

Buffet breakfast at the hotel and start of 3 hours guided panoramic tour of the city. You will see the Amalienborg Palace, residence of the Danish royal family, Gefion Fountain, Christiansborg Palace (Danish Parliament buildings), the old harbour of Nyhavn, and of course the famous Little Mermaid. Afternoon free for exploring this fairytale city. Your tour escort will provide entrance tickets for the famous Tivoli Gardens.

Day 3: COPENHAGEN – OSLO (B, D)

Morning free in Copenhagen. Afternoon transfer by coach from hotel to your overnight cruise by ferry to Oslo. Enjoy your first Scandinavian smörgåsbord dinner as you cruise gently up the Kattegat. Accommodation in 2-berth outside cabins with shower/WC.

Day 4: OSLO (B, D)

A delicious buffet breakfast is being served as you cruise along the enchanting Oslo Fjord. Arrival in Oslo at 09.30 hrs, followed by 3 hours guided tour of the Norwegian capital, incl. the impressive Vigeland Sculpture Park. Afternoon free in Oslo. We can recommend a visit to the Munch Museum or a stroll along the Karl Johan shopping boulevard.

Day 5: OSLO – ULVIK (B, L, D)

After breakfast you will visit the world-famous Viking Ships. Departure from Oslo, driving via Hønefoss along the charming Halling Valley to the tourist resort town of Geilo. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch cross the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping to view the thundering Vøringsfoss Waterfall with a vertical drop of 180 m. Descend the amazing Måbødal Canyon to the idyllic Hardanger Fjord. Cross the Hardanger Bridge and route to Ulvik.

Dinner and accommodation in fjord view rooms at Brakanes Hotel, ideally located on the banks of the fjord.

Day 6: ULVIK – BERGEN (B, L)
After buffet breakfast, start of scenic tour along the beautiful Hardanger Fjord, famous for its many fruit orchards. Route via the towns of Øystese and Norheimsund, arriving in Bergen around midday. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon 2 hours tour of Bergen, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbour with its gabled pack houses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter. You will also ride on the funicular to Mt. Fløien, for the best views of the city and fjords way below.

Accommodation at First Hotel Marin, centrally located next to the old Bryggen harbour and close to the pedestrian shopping streets.

Day 7: BERGEN – FLÅM – BALESTRAND (B, D)

After breakfast departure from Bergen and drive via Dale to the town of Voss. Board the train in Voss for a ride on the beautiful Bergen Railway to the mountain station of Myrdal. From Myrdal ride on the amazing Flåm Railway, a masterpiece of engineering descending 2.838 feet in less than one hour. The descent to the fjord side village of Flåm offers opportunities for photo shots of exciting waterfalls and mountain scenery.

After a short rest in Flåm, we start a 2 hours cruise along the narrow Aurlands and Nærøy Fjords, both branches of the Sogn Fjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of cascading waterfalls, sheer mountain cliffs, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of wildlife. After disembarking in Gudvangen at the head of the Nærøy Fjord, continue by coach through the amazing Stalheim Canyon and Nærøy Valley, across the Vika Mountains to Vangsnes, for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand.

Day 8: BALESTRAND – A DAY IN THE FJORDS (B, D)

Day free in Balestrand, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the outstanding beauty and nature of the fjords. You may want to spend the morning relaxing on the hotel terrace, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the spectacular views. We can also recommend a visit to the local aquarium and art gallery, or you may prefer to rent a bike or rowing boat from the hotel, or a hike to the nearest mountains. A walking tour of the village of Balestrand, with its historic buildings and other noteworthy sites can also be arranged. Dinner and accommodation at Kvikne’s Hotel.

Day 9: BALESTRAND – GEIRANGER (B, L, D)
After buffet breakfast departure from your hotel by ferry from Dragsvik to Hella, followed by a scenic tour along the northern side of the Sogn Fjord to Sogndal. The tour continues by road to Fjærland, passing under the Jostedal Glacier, the largest in Europe, to the village of Skei at the northern end of beautiful Lake Jølster. Descend to the Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the world-famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best views.

Lunch will be served in a nearby mountain restaurant. After lunch the tour continues around the Nord Fjord via Loen and Stryn, to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. From here you go on board the ferry for the one hour’s cruise along the spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all the Norwegian fjords. During the cruise you will pass close by some magnificent waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil and the Seven Sisters. Dinner and accommodation at the excellent Union Hotel, overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.

Day 10: GEIRANGER – OSLO (B, L, D)

From the top of one of the serpentine roads, you have the opportunity to digest some amazing views of the fjord, before crossing the rugged Grotli Mountains to Lom, well known for its 14th century stave church. The tour continues via Lake Vågå, before descending the magnificent Gudbrands Valley to the popular tourist town of Lillehammer. Stop for lunch in Lillehammer. After lunch the journey continues alongside Lake Mjøsa, Norway’s largest lake, back to Oslo. Dinner and accommodation at Thon Hotel Opera Oslo.

Day 11: OSLO – STOCKHOLM (B, L, D)

After breakfast departure from Oslo, continuing by coach towards the Swedish border. Cross into the attractive province of Värmland to arrive in the city of Karlstad on Lake Vänern, the largest in Sweden. Lunch in Karlstad. After lunch the tour continues through a landscape of forests and sparkling lakes to reach the Swedish capital in the late afternoon. Day 12: STOCKHOLM (B)

Breakfast at the hotel and start of 4 hours guided tour of the city. Join one of Lights Over Lapland’s professional photographers for an opportunity to see and photograph the aurora borealis in the wilderness of Abisko National Park. Due to clear skies and virtually no light pollution Abisko is one of the greatest places in the world to see the northern lights. We will provide you with a high quality camera & lens and quickly teach you the skills that you will need to find and photograph the magical aurora borealis.
Itinerary

Begin: 8 PM

First you will meet your guide where you will be given a high quality camera and we will spend a few minutes explaining how to use it. All of the camera’s settings will be taken care of in advance so that all you have to do is enjoy watching and photographing the aurora borealis. You will also be given a pair of warm overalls to help keep you safe and comfortable during your night in Abisko National Park.

The adventure begins! Your guide will use their many years of experience to lead you into Abisko National Park where you will search for and photograph the magical aurora borealis. During this time we will discuss the history of Abisko National Park and give you a local’s insight into Lapland’s folklore. You will learn how the aurora fits into the local culture and your guide will share information that will help you understand the solar system and the countless stars and constellations above Abisko National Park. We will explain the science behind the aurora in layman’s terms so you can understand exactly what you are seeing when you watch the aurora borealis dance overhead. During your adventure we will also discuss the impact that strong solar storms and the auroras that they create may have on modern society in the years to come.

Once you return to the Turiststation you will collect your memory card full of photographs of the evening’s adventure.

FRIDAY: Excursion, Northern part of Eysturoy. Visit the scenic villages Gjógv and Saksun.
We drive from Tórshavn along the coast through colourful villages, crossing ”the bridge over the Atlantic”, and continue to the northern most village on the island of Eysturoy, Gjógv, known for its unique natural harbour and Crown Princess Mary’s bench.

Among other things, you will see classic sea cliffs and the rock formations the Giant and the Witch, and the highest mountain in the islands, Slættaratindur at 882 meters.

Lunch is served in cozy surroundings, and then the tour continues via the village of Funningur to the idyllic village of Saksun which lies picturesquely bound in a small fjord with high mountains on both sides.

Spend the night in Tórshavn.

SATURDAY: Magnificent Vestmanna Cliffs and Viking settlements.
Start the day by exploring Tórshavn on your own. At the end of the harbour is Østrom where you can see and buy contemporary Faroese art and fine craft. On the main street it is possible to have a closer look at exquisite Faroese designed wool ware in the latest fashion, like the exciting store, Staðið and the sewing boutique, Guðrun and Guðrun.

On your walk you pass the cozy old bookstore, which is well worth a visit. We suggest lunch at cafe Kaffihúsið down by the harbour.

After lunch excursion to the Vestmanna Cliffs. From Tórshavn we drive via the mountain road to the village of Vestmanna where we sail out to the cliffs, into and through several sea caves – a fabulous experience – remember your camera. En route back to Tórshavn, we make a stop at an old Viking farmstead in the beautiful and quaint village of Kvívík.

SUNDAY: Excursion, Saga Island of Sandoy and cultural centre of Kirkjubøur.
Day tour to the historic island of Sandoy, one of the most unspoiled islands where you can still experience the old, Faroese way of life.

We drive from Tórshavn over the mountain to the ferry harbor Gamlarætt where we catch our ferry. On the sail across the sound, we enjoy the views of Hestur and Koltur.

The guide tells us about the sagas from the island – some captivating stories. Experience a church visit, fantastic viewpoints, small villages, and bird cliffs. Bag lunch eaten en route.

Before returning to the hotel, we visit the cultural centre of Kirkjubøur.

Spend the night in Tórshavn.

MONDAY: Explore Tórshavn on foot and by bus.
Walking exploration in the old city quarter in Tórshavn, Tinganes and Reyn with its small alleys and charming houses with grass roofs. The local guide will tell stories about the past and present. You might meet the Prime Minister, or one of William Heinesens – Lost Musicians.

The tour also goes by the Cathedral and its cozy adjacent neighbourhood, Vágsbotn, with its many boats. Here you can see how important the sea and fisheries are to the local inhabitants.

Then by bus to the newer part of town. The tour ends with lunch. After the tour, on your own, you can visit the National Faroese Museum.

Spend the night in Tórshavn.

TUESDAY: Excursion, The Northern Islands – Breathtaking nature.
We drive from Tórshavn towards the most northerly island. From the village of Leirvík we enter the sub-sea tunnel, which was decorated by local artist Tróndur Patursson.

On this tour, we will experience the islands of Borðoy, Viðoy, and Kunoy. The nature is breathtaking, and is dominated by high and steep mountains. We explore the second largest village of Klaksvík, one of the most important villages inside the fishing industry.

We also visit Christians Church. Lunch is served on the tour.

Spend the night in Tórshavn.

WEDNESDAY: Day on your own. Additional excursions can be purchased, for example:

Visit the Island Mykines. Daytrip to the westernmost island of Mykines, also called bird paradise, as the island has a rich bird life. See among others the impressive bird Gannet who is the king among the Faroese birds, and only breeds on Mykinesholm. Get close to puffins, the charming little birds with the colorful beaks. NOTE: The ferry crossing to Mykines depends on the weather. Should it happen that the ferry is canceled the tour continues on the island of Vágar. This excursion is not refundable.

Visit the island of Nólsoy. By ferry from Tórshavn to the neighboring island Nósloy. Here life moves at a slow pace. At the tourist office you will meet the guide who will take you on a tour of the village. Visit Brunn, a house built of driftwood from the 1600 century and the unique attraction that can only be had on Nólsoy, Rowing Ove’s boat, Diana Victoria. In 1986 Ove rowed alone from the Faroe Islands to the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen. Light meal is served. On your own, you can hike to the top of the island where you have the most beautiful panoramic views of Tórshavn and the nearby islands.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to the Land of Fire and Ice! On your own, transfer to Reykjavik. If your flight lands early in the day, a great suggestion is to explore Reykjavík, the largest municipality in Iceland.

Ingolfur Arnarson, the first settler of Iceland, built his farm on the peninsula where Reykjavík stands today. The town got its name “Smoky Bay” after the columns of steam that rose from the hot springs in the area and made such a deep impression on the first settlers.

Dinner is on your own. Reykjavik offers a multitude of restaurants and/or coffee-houses, making dinner a great way to get better acquainted with Iceland\’s capital.

Overnight stay in Reykjavík (airport transfer not included). Dinner on own.

Day 2: Geysir – Gullfoss – Skogar – Dyrholaey – Vik

Exploding Geysers – Waterfalls – Seabird Colony – Black Sand Beaches of the South Shore

Breakfast at your hotel. Start the day with a short city sightseeing of Reykjavik. From Reykjavik head through the greenhouse village of Hveragerdi. Head on to the Golden Circle natural wonders. Explore Gullfoss, the \”Golden Waterfall\”, and the nearby Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Geysir and Strokkur, as well as numerous other hot springs and boiling mud pools. Continue along the south shore and stop to admire the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss before continuing to Dyrholaey* nature reserve. Continue to the village of Vik.

Day 3: Vik – Skaftafell National Park – Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon – Hofn Lava Fields – Glacial Lagoon with Icebergs – Europe\’s Largest Glacier

Breakfast at your hotel. Continue your journey along the Ring Road. Cross Eldhraun, the largest lava flow recorded on the planet in historical times. Visit Kirkjubaejarklaustur town, the former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent. The tour continues over Skeidararsandur sands to Skaftafell, a beautiful glacial area within Vatnajokull National Park. Continue to the stunning Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon to see the birthplace of icebergs. As you head east, you will continue to enjoy magnificent views of mighty Vatnajokull, Europe‘s largest glacier. Your destination is Hofn, a seacoast village located near the glacier.

Day 4: Hofn – East Fjords – Egilsstadir

Breakfast at your hotel. Today you‘ll enjoy amazing scenery as you head from glacial landscapes to fjord views. Drive from Hofn through Almannaskard pass, stopping to admire the majestic coastline. Head into the magnificent East Fjords with its views of towering mountains plunging vertically into the sea. Pass through coastal fjord villages on your way to Egilsstadir.

Day 5: Lake Myvatn Area – Highland Desert – Bizarre Lava Formations – Geothermal & Volcanic Activity – Rich Birdlife – Protected Salmon River

Breakfast at your hotel. Explore the empty vastness of the highland desert plateau Modrudalsoraefi as you head towards the Lake Myvatn area. On the way, stop at Dettifoss, Europe\’s most powerful waterfall. Continue onwards to Namaskard pass with its boiling mud pools and vibrant colours. Explore the natural beauty of the Lake Myvatn area, including the pseudo craters at Skutustadir and the Laxa Salmon River. One of the Myvatn area\’s claims to fame is that it is home to more species of ducks than any other place on Earth, with very diverse birdlife in general.

Day 6: Lake Myvatn Area – Akureyri – Siglufjordur

Breakfast at your hotel. Start the day by exploring the peculiar lava formations at Dimmuborgir. Visit the magnificent Godafoss waterfall and the old turf farm Laufas. Afterwards, visit Akureyri, the colourful northern “capital“ of Iceland. The town has charming buildings and beautiful view of the Eyjafjordur Fjord. After spending some time in Akureyri, continue along the coastal roads of Eyjafjordur and the Troll Peninsula. This is a beautiful drive along steep mountains with amazing views over the Arctic Sea and black sand coastline. The destination is Siglufjordur, set in a beautiful fjord of the same name. This town has some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored to their original glory. The evening and dinner is on your own at one of the town´s restaurants. Siglufjordur is a very enjoyable and friendly town for an evening stroll.

Day 7: Skagafjordur – Borgarnes – Fertile Farmlands – Glacial Rivers – Unique Viking Horse Demonstration

Breakfast at your hotel. This morning visit Siglufjordur‘s award-winning Herring-Era Museum. The museum recreates the atmosphere of the early 20th century, when Siglufjordur was transformed into a herring boom town, thanks to a large migration of herring. Afterwards, head along majestic mountains and narrow passes lead to Skagafjordur, considered to be one of the finest places in Iceland for horse breeding. Enjoy an introduction to the unique Icelandic horse breed with its special fifth gait – the tolt. Continue towards the village of Blonduos built on both sides of the river Blanda. Hrutey Island, a protected nature reserve, sits within the centre of this popular Salmon River. Cross the Holtavorduheidi plateau through Borgarfjordur to the beautiful town of Borgarnes.

Day 8: Borgarfjordur – Thingvellir – Reykjavik – Europe\’s Largest Hot Spring – Picturesque Waterfalls – National Park with Geological Wonders (UNESCO)

Breakfast at your hotel. Drive to Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot spring in the world. Stop to admire the beautiful Hraunfossar waterfalls before continuing via Hvalfjordur fjord to Lake Thingvallavatn, Iceland\’s largest lake and Thingvellir National Park. This UNESCO heritage site is where the world‘s oldest continuing parliamentary government was founded in the 10th century. It is also the place where the North American and European tectonic plates meet.

Overnight stay in Reykjavík. Dinner is on your own.

Day 9: Departure

Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer to the airport not included, but we would be happy to book it for you. We advise departing your hotel no later than three hours before your international flight.

DAY 1: Arrival Tallinn

Arrival in Tallinn, optional transfer to 4-star hotel, check-in, welcome meeting.

DAY 2: Tallinn-Cesis

After breakfast we drive to the Lahemaa National Park, where we visit the Manor Houses in Palmse and Vihula. We continue to Tartu, the university town, where Estonia gained its statehood. We see the charming Old Town and the University founded in 1632. From Tartu we drive onwards into Latvia to Cesis, a Hanseatic city with winding streets, castle ruins and beautiful gardens. Check-in at Hotel Cesis*** or similar.

DAY 3: Cesis-Vilnius

Today we drive through the Gauja National Park to Sigulda, a popular holiday resort. We see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the ruins of the Castle of the Knights of the Sword before we drive around Riga to hit the highway down to Vilnius. En route we reach the magnificent Rundale Palace, the former summer residence of the Duke of Courland. Following a guided tour of the palace we travel through Lithuania to reach Vilnius late afternoon. Check in at Hotel Radisson Blu Lietuva**** or similar.

DAY 4: Vilnius-Klaipeda

Vilnius is known for its more than 1.200 medieval buildings and 48 churches. The morning sightseeing tour includes a panoramic tour of the city and a walking tour of the Old Town with Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, St. Anna’s Church, Old University and the Gates of Dawn. After the tour we continue to Trakai, the medieval capital of Lithuania and we see the well preserved Trakai Castle, beautifully located on an island in Lake Galve. The balance of the day is spent en route to Klaipeda, where we arrive late afternoon. Check-in at Hotel National**** or similar.

DAY 5: Klaipeda

The day is reserved for a full-day optional tour to the Curonian Spit, a thin, 100 km stretch of land between the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon with small fishing villages, pine forests and endless sand dunes. Our first stop is the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante. After that we continue to Nida, where we visit the High Dunes, Thomas Mann’s summerhouse and get acquainted with the charming resort town before we drive back to Klaipeda. The evening offers an optional Lithuanian dinner at Restaurant 19th Century.

DAY 6: Klaipeda-Riga

Klaipeda first became a part of Lithuania in 1923 and had a long history as a German town called Memel. A short sightseeing tour takes us to the Old Town with its narrow, cobblestone streets and old guild houses and we visit the Theatre Square and the Aennchen von Tharau Fountain. We now continue to the Samogitia National Park, where we embark on a walking tour around the picturesque Lake Plateliai. After that we continue to Siauliai and Cross Hills, one of the holiest sites of Catholic Lithuania. We head North into Latvia and reach Riga in the afternoon, check-in at Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija**** or similar. The evening offers an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.

DAY 7: Riga

Riga founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert is the largest of the 3 Baltic capitals and boasts a true kaleidoscope of various architectural styles. The walking tour of the Old Town includes Riga Castle, Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, Swedish Gates, Three Brothers, Large and Small Guild House and the Freedom Monument. The afternoon is reserved for an optional visit to Jurmala, the vibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. In the evening enjoy an optional Latvian dinner at the stylish Restaurant Forest.

DAY 8: Riga-Tallinn

The tour continues along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu. We do a short tour of the resort before we continue through the North Estonian land of forests and arrive in Tallinn early afternoon, check-in at the Hotel Radisson Blu Olympia**** or similar.

DAY 9: Tallinn

Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place in the summer with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. The sightseeing tour takes us around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where we see Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon an optional excursion is offered to Kadriorg Park and visit to KUMU, the award-winning new Estonian art museum, with its collections of classic and contemporary fine art. The evening offers an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Peppersack.

Itinerary

Day 1

Copenhagen – Kangerlussuaq – Nuuk

Depart from Copenhagen with Air Greenland. The first sight of Greenland is very special and makes a big impression.Your first stop is in Kangerlussuaq where you change flight to Nuuk. After check-inn explore the capital of Greenland. A busy city surrounded by magnificent nature, that most citizens use actively all year round.

In Nuuk you find gourmet restaurants and very nice boutique shops. But when you walk through the old neighbourhoods you see that history and traditions continue to have clear impact on a city that is growing rapidly.

Day 2

Nuuk – Boarding the costal ship

We suggest to visit the beautiful arts centre Katauaq, whose façade is shaped like the northern light and the equally beautiful old district with the statue of Hans Egede looking across the old colonial harbour, the fjord and the mountain range in the distance.

The Greenland National Museum with the famous mummies is located in the colonial harbor and is worth a visit. Remember to take a selfie with Santa\’s big red mailbox.

At the end of the day it is time to board Sarfaq Ittuk. Ahead awaits two days of coastal cruise, heading for Ilulissat. The coastal ship sails up and down the west coast and is also used by the Greenlanders themselves.

Day 3

At sea – Calling at Sisimiut

In the morning the ship will call at Maniitsoq and Kangaamiut. There is no time to go ashore, but from the deck it is possible to enjoy the busy harbour as people disembark and new travellers come on board.

Early evening we arrive in Sisimiut, the second largest city in Greenland. The coloured houses stands in wonderful contrast to the hilly rocky area. Explore Sisimiut and visit the old town with its original buildings from the colonial era.

Day 4

Icefjord – Arrival to Ilulissat

As the ship approaches Ilulissat, there is every reason to enjoy the sight of the icebergs. Some are just large-scale lumps of ice while others are almost towering above you. What a welcome to the magnificent Disco Bay.

Transfer from the ship to the hotel. After check-in go for a walk around town. The colourful houses are painted in a rainbow of shades, and the giant icebergs float by in the bay just outside of town. Visit the local museum to get an insight into local history and the life of the well-known polar explorer Knud Rasmussen and his many expeditions.

On the outskirts of town you can see and hear the sled dogs. The dogs are chained, but their puppies roam free.

Ilulissat offers various restaurants and cafés where you can enjoy fabulous food – often with a spectacular view.

Day 5

Ilulissat – Day on your own

Additional excursions can be purchased, but must be pre-booked. For example: Guided walk to the ancient settlement of Sermermiut and enjoy beautiful vantage points over the ice. The beautiful icebergs of Ilulissat create the wing for the abandoned settlement Sermermiut, which is situated one and a half kilometres south of the city. The different Inuit cultures have lived here during the last 4000 years, and today you can still find artefacts, which witness their presence. Hear the story about the life and the customs of the Greenlanders before the Europeans´ arrival; see the ruins and the kitchen mitten. From here is one of the world\’s most beautiful vantage points over the ice.

Day 6

Ilulissat – Day on your own

Additional excursions can be purchased, but must be pre-booked. For example: Full day excursion to Eqi Sermia. The Eqi Sermia Glacier is called the \”calving glacier\” because ice breaks off from it more frequently than other glaciers. The excursion to the Eqi Sermia glacier it gives you the opportunity to get very close to the inland ice and to see the calving phenomenon. At the glacier the boat stops approx. 500 metres from it so you can admire the calving.

Day 7

Ilulissat – Day on your own

Additional excursions can be purchased, but must be pre-booked. For example: Boat tour among the huge icebergs of the Ilulissat Icefjord. These large pieces of ice have broken off from the most productive glacier in the northern hemisphere. The glacier flows about 30 metres per day producing approximately 20 billion tons of ice every year. Form the Icefjord the icebergs float by the town of Ilulissat and continue north before turning south and into the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 8

Returning by plane across the Icefjord to Copenhagen via Kangerlussuaq. Check out from accommodation and transfer to the airport.
